Ham
Used in 3 recipes on RecipeWiki.
Ham, on this page, means cooked ham: cured pork that has been boiled or baked and is ready to eat, with boiled beef covered as the alternative some cooks prefer. Its flavour is mild, salty and gently sweet, and diced small it adds savoury bite to cold dishes. That is how it works in Olivier Salad, among the potatoes, pickles and peas, and in Okroshka, the chilled summer soup. In Solyanka it is one of several meats in the pot. Buy a thick piece from the counter rather than thin slices, so it can be cut into neat cubes that keep their shape, and use it within a few days of opening.

Solyanka
